Schwab Charitable Talks Giving Tuesday

Kim Laughton, President, Schwab Charitable met with Julie Cooling, Founder & CEO, RIA Channel to discuss strategic charitable giving.

“Donor-Advised Funds are simply a charitable savings account,” says Laughton. Contributors can donate both cash and appreciated securities for a tax advantage. With low account minimums relative to private foundations, this strategic and efficient way of giving is accessible to the every-day-investor.

As investors are thinking about tax planning and causes that are important to them, the end of the year is a great time for advisors to talk to their clients about strategic charitable giving, Laughton explains.
